    Long time ago was discussion (http://groups.google.com/group/prettyfaces-users/browse_thread/thread/3d39be7916341a89/b8c06b01bcd4b7bd) about feature with possibility to getting values to bean from DNS name, something like:

    <!– Default: Will be used if DNS name does not match any <host> elements. –>

    <!– For example: “ocpsoft.com” or “www.ocpsoft.com” –>

    <url-mapping id=”home”>

    <host name=”#{ /[a-z]{2}/ languageBean.lang }.ocpsoft.com”>

    <!– Will match the subdomains for the different languages –>

    <url-mapping id=”home”>

    Have you found solution how to do this? Will it be possible to use soon?

    PrettyFaces currently doesn’t support parameter’s for host names.

    But Lincoln is implementing some awesome stuff for Rewrite, which will be the new core of PrettyFaces 4.0. It could be possible that Rewrite supports something like this. But I’m not sure.

    @lincoln: Any thoughts on this?

    Hey Guys,

    Yes, Rewrite already supports this type of configuration very well:

    Info on how to use rewrite can be found here:

    I hope this helps!

    PS. If you want to use rewrite AND PrettyFaces, they are compatible, but I recommend using version 4.0.0-SNAPSHOT of PrettyFaces, which also includes Rewrite. This will let you use both PrettyFaces features, and Rewrite features!

    Lincoln, you are a rock star! Rewrite FTW! :)

    That’s great news! Thanks for quick replies!

    I’m already using Pretty Faces, but version 3.3.2. Start to test Rewrite features :)

    Nice job, guys :)

    Great work. I am looking forward to this feature. Any indication on when 4.0.0 will be released? Will 4.x be compatible with JSF 1.2?

    Since I have this rewrite rule already implemented using Tuckey, I can’t seem to get Tuckey and PrettyFaces to work together, as properly warned.

    Sorry, we don’t know a release date for 4.0. It’s still a lot of work. But currently it looks like we will keep JSF 1.2 support. But I cannot give any promises about that.
