    Hi guys!

    First of all, thanks for this great piece of software.
    I’m using PrettyFaces in a Maven project, which is running on Tomee.

    	<dependency>
    	  <groupId>org.ocpsoft.rewrite</groupId>
    	  <artifactId>rewrite-servlet</artifactId>
    	  <version>2.0.12.Final</version>
    	</dependency>
    	<dependency>
    	  <groupId>org.ocpsoft.rewrite</groupId>
    	  <artifactId>rewrite-config-prettyfaces</artifactId>
    	  <version>2.0.12.Final</version>
    	</dependency>

    Problem: sometimes, when I execute “mvn clean”, I get this output: “Failed to delete C:\Users\Mircea\Documents\NetBeansProjects\m3\target\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib\rewrite-api-2.0.12.Final.jar”

    I execute “mvn clean”, because then I want to clean and do a fresh deployment on Tomee through Maven, but when I get this error, I have to stop Tomee, then clean, then deploy, which takes a lot of time.

    Any idea about how to avoid/fix this? It’s pretty annoying and time consuming.
    Thank you in advance.

    This problem cannot be solved by Rewrite. This is a Tomcat + Windows problem. I know about some people using Windows that regularly run into such problems.

    The only workaround I’m aware of is to set antiJARLocking in Tomcat’s context configuration.

    http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/config/context.html

    From the docs:

    If true, the Tomcat classloader will take extra measures to avoid JAR file locking when resources are accessed inside JARs through URLs. This will impact startup time of applications, but could prove to be useful on platforms or configurations where file locking can occur. If not specified, the default value is false.

    Thanks Christian!
    I understand.
    I do already use this context option, so I guess there’s nothing else to be done/tried?

    I’m not very familiar with these with file locking issues with Windows. I guess this is something you should ask the TomEE folks. 🙂
