Today I was frustrated by some *very* slow page loads for my application. It seemed like every time the browser would ask for a resource in ‘javax.faces.resource’ the server would take forever to serve it up. The profiler indicated PrettyFaces configuration as the culprit!
The problem: I didn’t have WEB-INF/pretty-config.xml in my web application.
The solution: I added WEB-INF/pretty-config.xml, and everything was much better.
My question is, when there is no WEB-INF/pretty-config.xml available should that be an error? Maybe a warning? (“hey dummy… fix your app config”)
